What about the other bread condiments?

Of course you need to ask. Have you never been to a restaurant before??

Culturally, biscuits are a US thing you won't find anywhere else, and if the kitchen staff have never encountered it before it came up on the menu, it's probably not going to be very good.  That goes for a bunch of things served at the buffet, not just breakfast...
