I'm a degenerate....well not really THAT BAD, but I do have a Caesars Diamond card every year and enjoy gambling. Slots is my game of choice

"HI Dave"

The algo their system loves is the simple "time x avg wager"

If you go in every day it's open and grind out a couple hours, even at say $.50 - $1 a spin average, you'd create a decent ADT - Average Daily Theo (loss).

That's what generates offers and makes one's better or worse than another, even if having the same exact level players card.

Land casinos want 4 hours a day of play, actual card in a machine play.

Ships seem ok with about 2 hours a day/evening.

Time is the big deal, not size of wagers. If you came into the casino, dropped $1K on roulette and walked away, they don't care other than to say thank you. There's no commitment, so you're not "a player," you're just foolish. They want to see time on the clock, then your average wager after that.

Points and all that is good, but that isn't the real way they rate you.

That is the simplest way to explain it, but basic rule, time x average wager, that's what they look at.

What about blackjack?

I played slots on my last cruise. Then I started black Jack. I noticed my points went up a lot faster with the slots than it did with blackjack but I was betting more money. And I spent a great deal longer at the table than I would slots.

Part of that ADT is what you play.

Each type of game, Slot, Video Poker, BJ, Roulette, Craps, all have different win/loss based on the house advantage.

Slots has the best edge for the house, so you'll get more points, plus it's more accurate, no human involvement in your rating. When you play BJ, the dealer has to tell the pit boss/pit critter what you're wagering and they watch. (some places have chips in the chips to track). Slots can be hundreds of spins an hour, game like BJ is way slower per hour, that's part of the ADT equation.

So it does depend on what you are playing.

I'd still say if you sat a couple hours a day at BJ you'd get decent offers.

I am keeping this as simple as possible, so not to confuse folks, but it can get very complicated when you break down house edge, hold rates and more....just go with *Time x Average Wager = Offers"

Host will tell you "play a lot, get a lot"

And BTW, they DO want you to win. Losers aren't happy and loser do not tip, anyone. They do not care if you win, no dealer does, no host does, it's not in their personal best interest. Winning is best for them, because you'll tip them out.

Land or sea, same for any casino

BTW, games with the best player edge, but worst when it comes to offers.....Craps and Video Poker

Video poker is so bad, they give you 1/2 the points you get for slots.

Oh yeah, if I remember right, it's something like $2.50 per point on slots (so $5 per point on Video Poker).

Craps is great fun, great player edge if you keep it simple . Ask the dealers to help, they'll keep you going and so will others.

Funny thing is, everyone can get free drinks in casino after something like 50-100 points I believe

i thought it was 1500 points. We had cheers anyway even though the casino offer my husband booked had drinks for him in the casino. We wanted to drink at our leisure.

I have been blessed with fabulous offers.  I will be going on my 19th cruise in June that included 1K in casino cash, drinks everywhere for only me, and a free suite.  I do spend more time than I would like to admit the casino🤫.  Also, have my first Elite booked for April of 2023, no $$$$, free balcony and all of the Elite perks for 2 people.

I would do a screen shot of them if I knew how to🙄.

I am a CET status matcher and was one of the fortunate one's that kept their status during the time they took everyone's away and then gave it back.  I have matched status for years.  I also matched my Diamond card to a VIFP offer and then in a few days I was getting a free interior room with 200 OBC and 100 FP.  A few days after that I also received one for a balcony with the same benefits.

I can actually book both those deals separately.  My wife also has a Diamond card, so that is another two bookings.  You could realistically get this deal for 4 cruises for 2 people.  We are combining our deals and booked interior rooms connecting with our children.

This type of offer with no show of previous play just seems wild in my mind.  We were not going to be cruising while the kids were this young but I felt there was no reason not to take advantage of this.

I'm curious - if you have (basically) a CHEERS package for yourself - would your spouse be able to purchase CHEERS (for just 1 of the 2 in the cabin)?

Tom,

I am not 100% sure on that one and have been reading different answers to that exact question on these boards.  My cruising buddy also received the same offer, so we are G2G, which helps🙂

I believe I have read that that is one of the exceptions to Cheers.  If one has drinks everywhere the other can buy just one CHeers package. I do believe "Drinks everywhere" is essentially the casino paying Carnival for your drink package.

Can you expound on the $1000 “fun points” as it’s referred to.  I too have this offer and am curious as to it’s distributed.  All at once on my players card?  Or do you have to play with your own money to receive it?  And do you have to only use it on 1 machine or multiple machines? Thanks in advance

On my cruise in March on the Magic, I had Drinks Anywhere and my significant other was able to purchase cheers for himself.  He was able to purchase at a bar.  There was some confusion and the bartender had to make a call and ask.  She was then told he could do so.
Word of advice, wait until International Waters otherwise you spend a lot extra on taxes.  Once you hit IW, no taxes on the package apparently.

On my last cruise in April this year, they gave me the $300 in Casino Free Play in 3 qty $100 bills at the cashier when I gave them my card.  They cross you off a list and made me sign for it

A few years ago NCL was giving us the best offers.  Since COVID, it's been Carnival.  Interestingly enough, we have gotten better offers from each when we take a hiatus.  On our January sailing with Carnival we won an obscene amount over the 10 days...and put a good chunk back.  It just wasn't in our best interest to rest on our laurels...retired, ACA, SC tax laws, etc.  Expected them to court us.  Not at first! We got crappy offers for a couple of months, and lo and behold after not accepting them, the freebies started pouring in again.  We took the winnings that we kept from Carnival and gambled them on NCL in March, the offers with them since have been dismal.  I'm not booking any more cruises with NCL other than what I need to use my Cruisenext deposits until offers improve.  We'll see if they get "onboard"...pun intended.

I have been on over 30 cruises with Carnival in the last 20 years, have 3 already booked for this year and I just got the Free Balcony, $1000 free play and drinks everywhere offer.  It's obviously not just for the newbies.

I spend a whole lot of time, and at least $100 everyday in the casino.  I consistently get casino deals, but this was the first time I got $1000 free play (normally it's $200 or $500).  I was on the Mardi Gras just over 2 months ago and actually got a hand pay on the last day - $1900.  I'm thinking maybe the reason I got the $1000 free play offer is due to that win lol.

The offers have been much better (at least for me) since the restart and I have definitely taken advantage of them.  Worked out great as I retired just before the shut down so I can take advantage of the offers.
