Harmony First Time Caribbean Sailing

Hi.  We've done many Royal Caribbean cruises in the Med including on Harmony, but this year for the first time will be on a Caribbean cruise in June.  I'd be really interested in people's view of the differences we can expect between the cruises, for example: on Med cruises there is still a reasonable number of people dressing formally for Formal night, what is the experience in the Caribbean?  is the food broadly the same or does it reflect the cruise location? etc, etc.

June more families traveling with kids due to school vacation.

Definitely less formal than a Med cruise. And a far greater proportion of Americans, as you might expect. I think menus will be pretty much the same apart from things like theme nights in the Windjammer.

My observation is that it will be very casual, busy and mostly Americans onboard.

 

Quite different to a Med cruise however also fun and hot!

On formal nights you will see everything from suits/gowns to t-shirts. Dress codes are more like recommendations. Don't dress up unless you want to.

Many people still dress formally in the Caribbean- we do- not gowns and tux's,, but cocktail attire.  We enjoy celebrating the cruise and dressing up makes it festive.  Inside the ship  it is typically very cool.
