Looks like beautiful weather and definitely not cold. I will be there in 3 weeks hope the good weather continues.

They say it takes an hour to walk that round trip. I didn’t time walking down…But I know I got back in 16 minutes. Now that coffee hit me about half way down there…and I had to get back to pee.

Glacier center. You can take steps

Or an elevator.

It looks like they’re requiring masks in the glacier center. I had no idea and I didn’t bring one. It didn’t look like they were handing them out either. So I got in. Got a few pics and got out.

I took the back way out.

You can do an eastern trail here but it takes 2.5 hours. I don’t have that kind of time.

I look at the time. I have 7 mins till the next shuttle if I can make it. Otherwise I’m here another 30. I’m going for it.

Made it with two mins to spare. I got on the bus exactly 90 minutes after I got off of it.

The driver made a stop by red ball saloon which is closer to the ship. And the saloon.

Then people who wanted to go down to the tram could stay on. I went for the saloon.

Imagine the differences I see from my visit to the Mendenhall Glacier in September 1981. There was no Glacier Visitors Center or marked trails and I had to take one of the two taxis in town to get there!
