Rare CruisinShips Posted May 18, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 18, 2022 I recall with Royal, suite guests could email the concierge a couple of weeks before the cruise to get reservations to Coastal Kitchen. Can you do the same with Luminae? Or do they take dinner reservations at all....even while on the ship? Thanks
Treasure Hunter Posted May 18, 2022 #2 Share Posted May 18, 2022 We have never had a problem with getting seated at Luminae within a few minutes whenever we showed up.
Rare cruisestitch Posted May 18, 2022 #3 Share Posted May 18, 2022 No reservations needed or taken unless you have a very large group that wants to eat together
emmas gran Posted May 18, 2022 #4 Share Posted May 18, 2022 If you are in a higher suite the landside Suite Concierge will be in touch with you regarding your needs on board. There is no need to book Luminae as already stated
Northern Aurora Posted May 18, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 18, 2022 As already noted Luminae rarely takes, or needs, reservations. The only time I have observed reservations in Luminae was on a M-class ship when there was a group of fifteen suite cabins traveling together (over thirty people). They were on a privately escorted Alaska land tour followed by the Seward to Vancouver Millennium itinerary. Not all spoke English and their native language was not one widely spoken in the US. The Luminae maitre'd had half arrive for dinner at one time and the second half arrive about 1.5 hours later. They were seated along the long banquet seating on the inside wall, which meant there were many more window seats for the rest of the Luminae dinners. For breakfast and lunch they were on their own. Rare garyl62 Posted May 19, 2022 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2022 We're not nearly as experienced as many other cruisers, but have been in suites on most cruises and as all have said no need for reservations nor are they typically done, we did have a reservation one time on my wife's birthday when our daughter from a regular balcony cabin was joining us. It was for 6:00PM (so early for Luminae standards) and they had decorated the table with "Happy Birthday" confetti and had a bottle of sparkling wine for us. We started the evening in Michaels and were running a few (I really mean only about 3) minutes late and the Maitre d' from Laminae called the Concierge in Michaels to see if we were coming soon so I expect it was something they typically don't do, and didn't want it to become a problem on that evening. As everyone has said already, just show up and they will do everything they can to accommodate you at the time you're there and you'll have a great experience!
