Solo traveler meet ups?

This is going to be my first time sailing solo on Carnival.  I've done 3-4 solo cruises on NCL, they have a "Meet up" every evening at 6 so you can find people to eat dinner with. Not looking for a date, just dinner companions.

If you selected assigned dining, you will be seated with the same people every night.  If you selected your time dining, when you check in, you ask to be seated with others or alone

in the fun times they will be a solo gather or something like that. it is usually in a lounge
