keokukjoe Posted June 6, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2022 After searching the CDC site, I am reading that COVID-19 testing for return to the USA is only required if arriving by air, not by sea. I am assuming that since our debarkation is in San Juan, PR, which is the USA, that we don't need a negative COVID-19 test to re-enter. Is this correct? Seems a little strange. Has anyone here debarked at a US port and can clarify this? It would take the fear of quarantining in San Juan out of the equation. Thanks. rizello Posted June 6, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 6, 2022 according to the CDC and state department, it is considered the US, so hopefully Viking would also consider it the US and not require re-entry test.
TayanaLorna Posted June 6, 2022 #3 Share Posted June 6, 2022 We arrived on Viking last December to San Juan with our last port of call in St. Martin. Negative Covid tests were required. In addition Puerto Rico deemed the PCR spit test that Viking did was not good enough so Viking had to scramble to bring on board people who did the nasal swab PCR test. We all had a specific time at which we had to report to the Star Theater for our swabbing. However, once you disembark in San Juan you are in the US and do not need a test to fly home. WestW Posted June 6, 2022 #4 Share Posted June 6, 2022 Puerto Rico has changed its entry requirements to either proof of vaccination OR a negative COVID test. Here is a link to their current requirements: https://www.travelsafe.pr.gov

What if that flight to PR has a layover in the US. Is test still needed I wonder. Edited June 7, 2022 by bbtondo
