Avidtravler Posted June 12, 2022 #26 Share Posted June 12, 2022 That's great news about Viking setting the example for all other cruise lines by eliminating pre-cruise testing. Hoping that Regent will soon follow their example and simply require full vaccination status to board any cruise. Lets get the stress out of cruising and return to the good old times. Come on Regent, Make It Happen.
Sailor Sam 407 Posted June 13, 2022 #27 Share Posted June 13, 2022 Viking is not a member of CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association), so that may give them some latitude that other cruise lines may not have.
Rare asnaleah Posted June 13, 2022 #28 Share Posted June 13, 2022 At least on Voyager, B2B cruisers now have to be tested June 15. We were just notified this evening. So much stress!

So much stress! We were B2B (two 25-night segments) on Mariner Mar-May this year and were tested between the 2 segments. It's no big deal.

Testing should become a thing of the past. But on the other side of the coin....suppose tests were curtailed and there were asymptomatic passengers on board who could possibly pass the bug onto others....guess it's all a catch-22.

I do agree with you and testing should be a thing of the past. However, not to downplay all of this, but after 3 years and with everyone vaccinated on a ship, the most likely outcome would be someone who is asymptomatic who passes it on to another person would also continue to be asymptomatic.
mrstanley Posted June 14, 2022 #33 Share Posted June 14, 2022 Before Covid if u had a cold, cough, flu or stomach bug u took care of yourself. You stayed in your cabin and got better. If needed you went to see the doctor. Constantly testing is so stressful!
Scout16 Posted July 5, 2022 #34 Share Posted July 5, 2022 I believe that Regent still wants you to report if you come down with a stomach bug so that they can keep it from spreading.
BearClaws Posted July 5, 2022 #35 Share Posted July 5, 2022 So, if you test positive at the pier, do they deny boarding, or do they allow you to board but escort you to quarantine? What about others in your party? What is the protocol?

Answers to all of your questions can be found in the FAQs at the bottom of this page: https://www.rssc.com/HealthSafetyProtocols Policies and procedures are changing quite frequently, so we send out a summary to all booked guests about 30 days prior to their sailing, and anytime there is a significant change, we send out a broad communication.
