JennysUncle Posted June 12, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2022 Coffee is an individual taste; what some people like, others don't. On past trips we have thought that the coffee in the big pots in the Lido has been just OK. I have seen the brewers being loaded from bags of Beukenhorst, which is a reputable commercial brand from the Netherlands. On our recent cruise on the Nieuw Statendam we thought the Lido coffee was much better, and I found out the 'secret'. The brewers were being loaded with half Beukenhorst, and half Mondrian Espresso (which is a Beukenhorst brand). https://www.beukenhorst.com/
AncientWanderer Posted June 12, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2022 Interesting. DH and I discussed on our Eurodam cruise in March that we thought the Lido coffee was much improved. I guess it was indeed better. 👍
cowmilker Posted June 13, 2022 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2022 I cannot remember the name of the company, but I bought some coffee (decaf, beans) for DH from a place in Florida because it was the HAL blend. Has the HAL logo all over the packaging. He LOVES the stuff. Loves the coffee on those ships. Now he loves his coffee at home. I bought a very large bag of it and put it in the freezer. I do not drink coffee and think it's vile. 🙂
cowmilker Posted June 13, 2022 #4 Share Posted June 13, 2022 LOL, yes, a bit of looking and it's Beukenhorst, but we got it out of Florida. And it's called the Rotterdam 1873. My husband loves it.
