UK test for US cruise?

Hi everybody

 

Apologies if this has already been answered, but I’ve had a quick search and can’t find anything relevant. I can’t find anything specific on the RCCL website either.

 

Does anybody know if a test taken in the UK, or any other country for that matter, will be valid for a US departure if taken two days before the sailing date?  We are planning on flying into the US the day before our cruise departs and ideally would like to test before leaving.

 

If anybody has had any experience of doing something similar it would be great to hear from you.

Hi, yes, any observed test should be fine, we are having one done on Wednesday in the UK for a friday departure.

The RCI site lists the criteria the test should have.

Yes, did the very same in April. Tested on a Thurs morning at Randox in Dublin before a flight, at that point of course we needed it to get into the USA, so the one test covered us for our cruise on the Saturday.

Yes it’s allowed. I used German test to board Freedom in Miami last week. Literally the only thing the check in agent looked at was line that said negative

We are also planning on flying in for our cruise the day before so will test Friday, fly Saturday and board Sunday.

Yes we test at Heathrow you must pre book it’s a quick service

We have tested in the UK for our previous cruises this year, all being done by Randox in either Glasgow or Edinburgh Airport, and all have been done with results back very quickly, and well within their published timescales.

We also printed off the emails with the testing results to make it easier at check in at the ports, in case our internet didn't work very well within the building.

We used DocHQ to test 2 days before getting on the ship and flew into the US the same day as the test. Had no issues.
