Not sure if this is still true or not, but I heard that if your cruise begins in Vancouver, you are required to wear mask to indoor venues for the entire length of the cruise.  Maybe this is the reason why there are so much room left on all of the sailing from Vancouver in July.  I am booked on the July 16th on the Majestic, and I highly doubt this ship will be full.

I believe this is the case for all northbound and southbound Alaska cruises. This was not a requirement when we sailed from Vancouver on May 2, but has since been initiated for those itineraries. I'm assuming that's still in place, but would be curious if it is really being enforced.

I have heard from some that it's being enforced and if the government knows about this, the cruise line will not be allow to sail from Vancouver for the rest of the season.

That's from someone who cruise and live in Canada.

I am totally fine with wearing mask and prefer it actually.

Where Ilive I see people alone in their car wearing a mask.  Most people wear cloth or surgical masks.

I beginning to believe that some of them don't understand the concept of wearing a mask and only do so because they've been told to. 😉

I have believed all along that it is due to Canadian federal government this practice is in place.  After all, when it comes to Covid-19 in Canada and travel, it's still 2020 (or at least 2021).
