Divina Trip - June 19th - 23rd 2022

Just got back from a 4 day Divina trip out of Port Canaveral yesterday.

Nassau and MSC Private Island visited.  No much on the island that I saw from my balcony.  Did walk around on it.  Numerous beaches to use.

I must say that the ship and all its staff were OUTSTANING.  From the terminal workers to all the men and women onboard.

Keri the Cruise Director kept us pretty much informed of all the happenings onboard.

Food and service at the restaurants were real good.

The evening shows were pretty good I must say.

Ship had about 1900 guests.  About half full for what I understand.  There were no large crowds at elevators or lines at the buffet.  The formal restaurants got me in and out within about 45 minutes.  Dinner was at 6.  I was always able to make the 7pm show.  I felt like I was on my own private yacht with the small crowd and the service the workers gave us.

We had a mercy mission the last night.  We had to turnaround and go help a small boat in distress is what Keri said..  As it turned out, another ship took the lead, was closer, and took it for action.  Heard the results riding back to my car on the bus.  Arrived in port on time.  Off port parking was used.  Saved some money that way to pay for an extra drink or 2 onboard.  🙂

Most guests carried their luggage off so we were able to leave the ship starting at 7:15am.  Prior, one was able to eat breakfast before leaving.  Line off ship and through customs was quick and easy.  Quickest I have seen after many many many cruises.

For you smokers, a cartoon of cigs cost $48.00.  I did not price out booze as there were too many to investigate.

Casino was pretty much dead.  A lot of black jack tables sitting idle and a few with just 1 or 2 playing at a time.

It was a pretty quiet cruise for me with EXCELLENT Care and Service.  It was a quick getaway booked on Thursday prior, leaving Sunday.

I would not hesitate going on the Divina again.

We are booked on Divina for late July. A couple of quick questions. When the ship is docked at Ocean Cay, are the on board shops and casino closed? Also, do you happen to know what the charge is for a small cup of gelato or for chocolate drinks at Venchi? Finally, where did you do off-port parking ?

We have not sailed out of Port Canaveral before so this will be a new experience. Looking  forward to a short cruise!

The small cup of gelato was $3.50.  Large $5.50 I believe.

A can of Sprite was about $3.97 after all the charges.

I did not see any shops open when the ship was at Ocean Cay during the day.  At night, it was all open like you were sailing.  We spent 2 days at Ocean Cay.

Off site parking I used is called Port Canaveral Parking.  3050 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32953

About 5 minutes or so from the ship.  $11.95 a day, including day of return, so for a 4 night cruise, you get charged for 5.  Plus port entry fee of $7.  Compared to $17 a day at the port.  I saved a few bucks plus I did not have to walk far with luggage...:). Best to book online.  Saves time at gate.
