Free Air for 2nd guest

If we book under the free air for 2nd promotion, can we book business class?  I realize it won't be free.  Just wondering if the 2nd person would be discounted?

You get no choices for anything until the tickets are issued.  Some airlines will allow you to upgrade to the better cabin once your ticket is issued, at your expense of course.  You can do that when you go to select your seats but you're paying for the upgrade for BOTH passengers.

Thanks for the answers!  I thought they probably didn't issue until closer.  I'll just decline that part with my TA and book myself.  I was just hoping to save a few $$$!
