Africa Safari starting in Maputo, Mozambique November 2022

Is anyone else booked on the HAL 5-day safari to Kruger National Park from Maputo, Mozambique on the Grand Africa 2022 cruise on the Zaandam? We would like to know if a special visa is needed to cross the border into South Africa from Mozambique. We can get the Mozambique visa on board, but have heard that a visa to enter South Africa is also needed. We are USA citizens. Does anyone have info about this and what to do. Thanks for your response.

You might be better off getting a correct answer to your question on the Roll Call for your cruise. 
That would be the place where others on this very unusual shore excursion would most likely know the answer.

US Citizens do not need visas if you're visiting as a tourist for less than 90 days.

I didn't need one when I last went to South Africa, but that was about 6 years ago. Also, all COVID entry requirements have been repealed since June 22.

In March 2018 we used Abercrombie and Kent to go to lodge in Kruger.   I am stating the agent  names because it looks like things could be much different now when I look at the situation at the Maputo/South Africa border.

We had to get an Exit Stamp from Maputo in a building close to the border.   Then a few yards away there was another building where we got the South Africa Lebombo Visitors permit stamp.  Again because of Covid you may have to do some research.
