New ships and projected maiden voyages

We need to book NCL credits from a cancelled cruise and sail before 12/31/23.  I see that Norwegian Viva will launch in July 2023.  She has several sailings in the Med October to December that we would like.  Am I naive to think that she will launch on schedule?  With the travel turmoil of the last 3 years, I'm concerned to book now.  The alternative is Epic, but my husband prefers smaller ships.

well, the Prima is about 8-12 months ahead of the Viva and has only been delayed a couple weeks. If Viva is due to debut between May and July I would say a cruise in October to December would be relatively safe.

Of course, things could change between now and then and something could end up significantly delayed and cause a shift in the schedule.
