Offer with On Board Credit

I booked an offer that has $500 on board credit for the cabin.

There are four people in the cabin. 

My PVP said he thought it was divided between the first two people.

I thought it was divided between everyone in the room.

Does anyone have any experience with this and know for sure how it is divided?

In my experience over the last few months, it has been divided equally between the adults in the cabin (so the 3rd person, being our daughter who had just turned 18, did end up with a portion of our onboard credit).

That has been our experience - we have been on several cruises over the past year, and our daughter was only 17 for most of them (thus no OBC attributed to her) but I was surprised to see recently, after she turned 18, she started to get an equal portion of the OBC.

On our recent cruise, my husband got all the onboard credit at the end of our cruise.  Not sure why.  Good thing we like each other, lol.

A recent booking we made had the following fine print regarding OBC.  Hopefully that explains it - I interpret that to mean the first two guests have OBC, the rest do not, but who knows how Carnival manages it within the system once applied:

 

Onboard Credit is non-transferable and is provided as a non-refundable credit of $250 per person up to $500 per room.

What are your real concerns?

 

Are you traveling with close family that will "share the wealth"  or virtual strangers?

 

All items booked pre-cruise can be paid for out of that OBC- so you can buy Cheers, water package, etc  a few dinners for the 4 of you, pre pay the tips, etc to use up the $500, before getting on the ship.
