Arriving early in Civitavecchia to check in ?

We will be early to the port around 12 - 1:30pm for a 2:00 pm check in time. Happy to wait until we are called. Do not want to wait the entire time at FCO, as we will arrive by 9:00 am at the airport. Should we spend some time in town until our check -  in time or go directly to the ship on July 28th. Appreciate your responses.

Maybe do 3 hours of touring around and then get dropped at the port

Oh my goodness.  You are flying in on the day of the cruise compounded by the current airport, airline, and baggage situation.  I broke out into a sweat just thinking about that.  😰  Go straight to the port and check in.

Couldn't have said it better myself!  Plan to go straight to the port as soon as you get your bags (hopefully they arrive with you).  I hope there are no delays along the way.  Good luck and bon voyage!
