Deck 6 balcony? What's the REAL deal??

Recommended Posts

Never cruised before and was just wondering about my deck 6 balcony (on side of ship) on the Adventure of the Seas. Did a search to find the answer, but found different responses. Is the balcony view obstructed by the lifeboats at all? And is the balcony all plexi-glass or is just the bottom half metal? Also couldn't find a set answer for when the formal nights are for this ship. (San Juan, Aruba, Curacao, etc. route). Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I can't give you an answer to the balcony question but as far as formal nights, I was told they are on the two sea days. That's good because we don't have to rush back from our excursions to get ready to dress up for dinner.

Your view will not be obstructed by the lifeboats. The deck six balconies on Voyager, Explorer, and Adventure are metal on the lower half, but they are still very nice and your view will be just fine. Enjoy!

Everyone has their preferences but we love the Deck 6 balconies ('hump' cabin preferred). We like being able to walk to dinner, shows, the promenade, and the casino; usually take the elevator to the pool, Windjammer, and the gym. Like voyager70 says, ENJOY!

We loved our Deck 6 balcony. We were midship and right by elevators. PERFECT. I think I am gonna do deck 6 again for Mariner cruise.

We were on Deck 7 recently on the Mariner recently near the elevators. I agree a great location! Two flights of stairs to the promenade, and if the elevators were real busy even the four flights to deck 11 (pool, windjammer) wasn't bad:)

Cabins 6230 is forward of the lifeboats so you can see straight down into the water if you like. Not sure how much the life boats interfere with the view of the water. The location is also convenient to the theater, promenade, and stairs which we loved. We booked 7230 on our last cruise on the AOS to have the glass balcony wall, but it didn't really make that much of a difference to us. If we were out there to look around, we were standing up anyway. We love being on decks 6 and 7.
