Disney Cruises are GREAT! Their Port Adventures not so much...

Everything was over and above expectations, except when dealing with their Port Adventures department. One piece of our luggage was lost by the airlines, but everyone from customer service to our room attendant was so accommodating and checked on us multiple times, even offering to reverse charges for laundry - and it was NOT Disney's fault! ❤️ On the other hand, we were a traveling party of 8. One of us got sea sick at the last minute and could not go on the once-in-a-lifetime visit to the Acropolis, which was a port adventure already paid for with Disney. The manager of Port Adventures did her job of being a "broken record" telling us there's "nothing" they could do since they contract with a third party. In order to get a refund for the $129 port adventure, we had to pay the $169 to see the ship's doctor. She completely lacked empathy that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity one of us had to miss out on due to feeling sick which was something that was not in our control. Disney is a huge company that sends hundreds of people on organized tour excursions every day. They had "no budget" to even send a bottle of apple cider to check on the well-being of my friend? Housekeeping sent a beautifully wrapped bottle of apple cider to one of the rooms in our traveling party when they mentioned their shower was leaking! Disney - I hope you're reading this! Your Port Adventures Manager on the Disney Magic absolutely did not represent your brand and your reputation well at all! We booked three Port Adventures through Disney and three private tours.  The private tours were much more affordable and more personalized!  🙂 Other than that, everything and everyone else on this Magical vacation of a life time went above and beyond!

They have procedures. Most tour adventures need to be cancelled so far ahead of time. If you were late, then, yes, I would expect them to request something from medical to prove you are sick, and not just saying that to get out of the excursion.

There actually was nothing that they could do, given that you did not take their suggestions. The ticket was paid for to the subcontractor.  I am sure that you must have purchased trip insurance to cover medical. They would have paid for your visit to the doctor and you would have gotten refunded for both the doctor visit and the unused tour,

Yout expectation was not reasonable. Otherwise, anyone could change their mind and ask for a refund.
