Medallion Net Discount for Loyalty level Elite

We are Elite loyalty status and my understanding is we receive a 50% discount.  When I sign in to the app on my phone it is showing full price of $70.00 for our 7 night cruise.  I would like to get the discounted price.  How do I do this?  Our cruise is Oct. 8, 2022 on the Discovery Princess.  Thanks

Check your account on the website, does it say Elite?  
If it doesn’t, then a call to PCL, they can fix it.  Check both your accounts and make sure they are correct.

Had the same problem. So I waited till I got on the ship the first day. Well, the 50% off was not on a discounted price but full price. Instead of it coming out at $5 a day after discount, it was $7.50.

 I went to the Internet cafe and spoke to the guy in charge there. He said that the discount which should show up on medallion (ours  didn't give me the 50% off), is not available once on the ship.On the ship the price is more , still get the discount but at a higher price. He said the discounted price is gone three days before the cruise. he suggested calling Princess or our travel agent to buy the internet.

This is the example for our 10 day  cruise. Medallion showed price $100. should have shown the discount and price would be $50.00. Mine showed no  Elite discount.

On board price was $149.00 and discount had me pay $75.00. Internet manager credited me back the $25 extra I paid but said in the future to call Princess or travel agent. he said once on the ship the 50% would be off the full price.

Yes. They were doing it only the first day for a while.  In the very beginning of the restart, because the App wasn’t showing the discount.

 

But, I would make sure my elite status is correct on the website and yes they should buy it from PcL ahead of time if the App is not corrected.  They could do both  things for them.  
I really hate to waste time once you get OB.

How recent was your cruise?  We had the same situation in February and July on the Sky and Caribbean .  In Feb, the internet manager gave us the credit for the extra dollars we had to pay.  In July, he would not.  Different ships and different people.  My impression from my experience and other posts, is they are not are not giving credits any more.  That is why I was curious. If your cruise was recent, maybe people can still get a credit with the right ship and internet manager.

Just do it before you get on, via the App

or call into PCL.  Save yourself the hassle.

I doubt it was the ships.  IDK the exact dates anymore, but it seems evident that since the MC App was corrected to apply the discount when recognizing member level, that PCL has now removed the exception policy to grant pre-cruise pricing on Day 1.  The 3-day margin mentioned above by @san diego sue is a typical deadline for ordering anything in advance of the sail date.  There is always a cutoff and I think it used to be 5 days for some things.  (When they used to sell casino credits, the cutoff for that moved from 5 days to two weeks!!).  

 

I concur with the idea that if the incorrect Captain's Circle Level is shown in the MC App to both call the MC App support team to fix it and to order MedallionNet over the phone and get the PCL rep to apply the discount due to the MC App data bug.

For a seven day cruise I agree, when the app works.  If you have to call PCL, it could be a bigger hassle. 

 

Especially for a longer cruise, I wish I could use either pre-paid gift cards or some of the significant OBCs I often get. In order to do that I have to wait until I board the ship, and it is at a higher price. In the whole scheme of things with the 50% discount you only save $2.50 per day per person by pre purchasing.  But I still wish Princess would let me use the money I have already spent instead of new money.

If you’re traveling with someone? DH or DW, etc.  Now call PCL and buy the discounted internet for your cruise.  And as @Steelers36suggested, call PCL Medallion App team and tell them to correct the App.  
I have been able to get through recently 

in a short amount of time when calling PCL CS.

Login to the app and look at your photo in the upper left corner.  Tap on your photo (the yellow dot means you are off-ship.  A window slides out from the left.  Now there is a sea-witch logo on your photo and the color indicates your CC Member Level.

 

ETA:  As @PacnGoNow mentioned, sometimes the travel partner on the booking is correctly recognized.

You can see it on your photo, click on it and it shows the medallion near your face. Should be black.  Also, on the MedallionNet where you Go to purchase, it should show elite status discount and give you the discount.

Sign out of the App and back in.

It may just be a glitch, which the IT team has to fix.

How long ago did you book this?

 The Sea Witch Logo is Blue on the Medallion Class APP.  The web page shows both my wife and me as Elite Status.  I logged out and back in to the APP but continues Blue status.  How do I correct the App to correctly show our Elite Loyalty status?  Thanks

Call regular PCL line and pick the option for Medallion App. You may not get the team directly but they can either help or report the issue.

You have been affected, along with many others.  You can phone in to Princess 800 line and listen to the phone tree.  Select the option for help with MC App and explain the issue to the rep. 

 

Either they or a tfr to someone else should allow you to make the order over the phone due to App issue.

1-800-PRINCES and listen to phone prompts to select MC App issues.

One thing you might want to try is deleting the app from your phone and reinstalling, even if it says you have the latest version.  We did this last month on a cruise to both an Android and an Apple phone.  Magically, most, if not all of our many problems disappeared.  We did not have your exact issue, but it is an easy thing to try.  I still have a lot of issues with the app, but at least everything functioned.

I see your response, it’s still blue. Like @steelers36 suggested, order your MedallionNet with your elite discount over the phone with Princess. It will then show up in your cruise personalizer on your travel summary page, that you can print before you sail.  
I would report this to the IT team (Medallion App) anyway, maybe they can correct it. 

You can try one other thing. About a month ago they made changes to the sign on process on Princess, which affected a few people.  I did this and it corrected a few things on the App. 


1. Sign out of the App.
 

2.Change your password on the Princess website for each of you and then of course you will need to change it for the medallion app also.  Because they

use the same login credentials.
