Has anyone been to Buzios, Brazil

Hi we have a stop in Buzios on our cruise to Rio, in November.  Has anyone been there ? Do we need a tour, or can we go on our own.

Any advice/info is welcome !

Yes, we had a stop at Buzios a couple of years ago as a substitute port. We loved it, it’s very lively. It’s easy to walk around, but there’s also a nice little tour you can do on a sort of open air tour bus/lorry. You don’t need to book beforehand, the booking office is just at the end of the pier. You book & pay there and they tell you where and when to turn up to take your tour. Can’t remember how much it was, but I’m sure it was pretty cheap.

If you have family that like Haviana sandals, there’s a great Haviana shoe shop there, very much cheaper than in the UK.

Indeed Buzios is very walkable. It is a seaside resort, nothing spectacular. A number of sculptures, including the option to take pictures with Brigitte Bardot 😙

Of course there are also many beaches, yet the nicer ones are in a greater distance.

Buzios has incredible beaches and  some amazing sculptures/status, it's definitly worth taking a tour there. Joao Fernandes Beach is the best beach there (or maybe the most popular) it has very calm water which is perfect for a chilly swim or snorkling.
