Certificate of Recovery specifics

We are traveling in 2 weeks out of Rome, and having had COVID in early July, we decided to get a Certificate of Recovery just in case. We submitted the request to our physician, specifically requesting the test results from our PCR taken there, and a letter outlining we are good for travel.

I just opened the letter. On the top half, he confirmed the PCR results as positive on July 7th, and on the bottom half, noted my full recovery, no symptoms and deemed me safe for travel. I was hoping for the official printout of “PCR SARS-COVID positive” like some places provide, but apparently, they can’t provide that. They can only confirm on the letter.

His confirmation of the positive PCR test taken, and the “good for travel” with his signature at the bottom should be fine, yeah?

I called Celebrity, and all they said was “we just need to see the test result and that you’re good for travel” but noted without seeing the form, they can’t say yes or no (understandable).

Am I worrying too much?! So stressful!

There have been many discussions on this that I have followed because we are using one to board Eclipse on 8/20 out of Vancouver.

We had our doctor video calls today to obtain letter.

But no where on information about the COR does it say it needs to be original letter.

Anyone who has used one recently, did you print a cooy or go to doctor to get original?

Thanks

Best to go to celebrity site and chek by you departure port and destination

There are different requirements by departure port and destinations.   They screwed up the site today and cant find european

Basic requirements of COR -  I believe Italy now 11-180 days while my requirements from Us was 11-90 days

Is Celebrity accepting Certificates of Recovery?  If I have recently recovered from COVID-19, what documentation am I required to provide?

For all sailings departing on or after March 18, 2022, Celebrity is now accepting a Certificate of Recovery. We will not accept a Certificate of Recovery in place of a vaccination record. Guests must continue to show proof of full vaccination where required based on age, with the final dose of their vaccine administered at least 14 days prior to sailing.

A Certificate of Recovery must meet the following requirements:

  • Be on official letterhead from a healthcare provider, public health official or telehealth provider showing:

    1. The Provider’s name

    2. The Provider’s address

    3. The Provider’s phone number

    4. Confirmation of your recovery and completion of isolation

  • Be typed (not handwritten) and signed by the provide

  • Date of validity must extend throughout the duration of your cruise

  • Include a positive result document for a COVID-19 test, either PCR or Antigen test, taken a minimum of 11 days and a maximum of 90 days before the departure date of your cruise.

Include a positive result document for a COVID-19 test, either PCR or Antigen test, taken a minimum of 11 days and a maximum of 90 days before the departure date of your cruise. The test results document from your test provider must include the name of the lab that processed the test, the lab’s CLIA Lab Number or Certification Number, the address of the lab, your name, the date the test was taken, type of test, and your positive result. This can be a printed document, email, or telehealth app notification. Fully handwritten doctor’s notes (such as those written on a prescription pad) will not be accepted. Minimal handwritten components (such as a check mark on a “positive” box) are acceptable as long as the other required information is printed on the document.

This is what I’m having an issue obtaining. Apparently my doctor cannot (or will not?) provide the actual lab test result printout. They just typed on the COR letter “confirmed PCR test result to be Positive”.

Yea... that would be the problem.       We had to use one to return to the U.S. in May and they needed both.

We used the COR in May to embark from Vancouver.  It was very efficient, but they did call someone (a title like medical document specialist?) over to our check in line to review our papers.  She read/scanned the letter from the physician, touching the dates,  signature, address, etc.  Then asked for and reviewed the lab test, again looking for the key facts like date, lab provider, results.  She then waited while the rep snapped a picture of both docs, into the hand held computers they used to check us in.  She even checked to see that they were legible on the screen.

In our case, we used the same physician group/hospital lab for the PCRs but the results were faxed to us directly.  We had to email copies to our physician.  Do you have access to the lab that handled your test?  Is there a chance you can go directly to them for copies of the results?

Going ahead with the with a proctored antigen test might be less stressful.  We wanted to board using the COR, as we were going to be gone for two weeks, and were concerned about still testing positive on a PCR if by chance we were exposed on a tour and asked to test.

Whatever you decide, enjoy your vacation.

We presented both a Negative Antigen Test (happy we tested negative) and a COR .   Didn't scrutinize either.

On Summit they still are unsure if we will be B2B Tested.    First we heard yes and then the Hotel Director say we may not need to do B2B testing and waiting on guidance from Miami.   Things are changing quickly and almost daily on European Sailing.

I decided to call Celebrity to find out if we had to bring the original doctor letter or a printed copy of one he sent us by email….it met all the requirements, just a printed copy.

After waiting on hold 1 hr…yikes….she asked her supervisor and I was told printed is fine. We have our printed CVS Positive result document and will show both.

Just did not want to take any chances!
