Unable to book dining on a "free" cruise

We've finally been able to take advantage of one of the free cruise offers we have received.  Not a casino offer.

It is the K-Dam Mexico/Sea of Cortez leaving 29 Dec.

 

When I try to book dining I get a red warning box saying it is unavailable.  I was able to book a shore excursion using the Have it All that I added to the booking.

Has anyone experienced this...or are I too far out to book dining?  Or...do free cruise offers have to book dining on board?

Just too far out for booking is my guess. We're cruising in January and paying full dollar and I can't book our dining yet either.

It's just too far out (I am on same cruise and see the same thing). Here is the Roll Call for the cruise, happy to add you -- would like first name(s) and number in party for the possible Meet&Mingle!

@crystalspin thanks.  I guess I have never tried to book dining so far out.  I was able to book for an early November Coastal CA cruise.  I head over to the roll call.  -Mike

We’re also on this holiday cruise. Still 140 days out. Try again closer to date.

If it is because it’s too far out then I would guess you’ll be able to book it very soon.  We’re on a 10 day holiday cruise that starts on 12/17 and I booked a couple of specialty dining reservations 2 days ago.

I have the same offer for this cruise. Do you know if you earn Mariner days for this?

I meant to ask when I called in to reserve, but forgot.  I've read on other posts that the casino offers did earn the Mariner days in the typical fashion....so hopefully the same applies to these offers.  Mine was a free Oceanview and was able to upgrade to a Verandah for the difference in the advertised price.

I wasn't able to get the Military/Veterans OBC on this due to a "casino" deal, but was able to get the CCL stock OBC. - Mike

Would be happy to include you on the Roll Call! Stop in and provide the number in your party and first names if you'd like. There will be an informal Sailaway Hop-On-Hop-Off gathering organized by me, and I will be reaching out to the K'dam for a "formal" Meet-and-Mingle as the time gets closer (hence the request for a number).
