tanderine Posted August 20, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2022 We are trying to decide on the regular Blue Lagoon Beach Break, on sale for $70.99 or the VIP adults only on sale for $104.99. This is for our cruise on October 24. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!
LeeW Posted August 21, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2022 Back during covid they escorted the VIP folks to a separate beach (north side across from dining area) and served drinks and food there. Very good food, your own umbrella and chairs, great service. During that time the dining and water toys were reserved for different ships, no mingling. Even then the regular beach inside the breakwater was crowded. Personally can recommend the service you get with the VIP package.
linerode Posted August 21, 2022 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2022 We recently did the beach break and had a great time. We were the only ship there and had very few people on the lagoon side. Lots of chairs and umbrellas available. The food was so so. If you want to feel pampered, do the VIP route. The food is better and you have more drink options. However, we have always just enjoyed doing the lagoon every time we've been there.

You don' t have to do the rays. Just go straight to the beach. Then buy food and drinks ala carte instead of the meh food that is included in the beach break.

pfdaxe358 Posted August 22, 2022 #6 Share Posted August 22, 2022 We did the VIP and it was just ok. This was back in October 2018. Seemed pretty busy in the VIP area, so after we ate, we packed up and went to the other side of the island and had the whole beach to ourselves to sun and snorkel. It all depends what you're looking for
OnceAMarineAlwaysAMarine Posted August 24, 2022 #7 Share Posted August 24, 2022 We did the Blue Lagoon Beach Break in 2018 and thought it was really a good excursion. We just did the same excursions last week and the Blue Lagoon Island has gone downhill. We got drinks from the bar twice, and both times the bartenders were treating us like we were bothering them by ordering a drink and when we asked a question about a drink they were very rude with their answers, like we should know ahead of time what is in a drink we have never tried. Neither one smiled, even when we made jokes with them. The food included with the excursion was TERRIBLE. Hot dogs and hamburgers were both very cold, corn was cold, and the salads were very bland. The only redeeming quality is the lagoon itself, which is beautiful, however, there were quite a few jelly fish in the area close to the dock. One little girl got stung and ran out of the water crying. A woman close to use also got stung and they took her to the medical center. We were right there in the same area and none of us were stung.
