Mosquitoes in the Mediterranean?

I will be spending four days in BCN before/ after a Mediterranean cruise in three weeks. Are mosquitoes/ biting bugs something to worry about? (The bugs in my town have been bitey this summer and cortaid is my new friend.) Should I plan to buy some insect repellent when I arrive? Let me know what you think. Thank you.

Yes there are mosquitoes all over the med , not ever seen any on a cruise ship.

Except  eating out on deck in a port.

In the urban environment of Barcelona you should not have any problem.

Never been troubled by mosquitos in Spain - but we only ever travel there in the winter months.
