Australian Cruise to PNG Travel Insurance NOT covering Covid

Has anyone read the Covid policy on their TI PDS regarding NO COVID COVER if you go to a country with a Travel Alert on Smart Traveller.gov.au 😳

Seems CoverMore & Southern Cross for starters have this in their PDS & just confirmed via email. If your cruise goes to one of many destinations not recommended, your insurance for the Covid component is invalid 

Has anyone found a TI a without this policy?

Actually, this might be an alert for all of us to check our insurance policies. Thank you.

Many Australian Travel Insurance policies do not cover Covid when on a cruise and particularly if there is a Smart Traveller travel warning. I used NIB Travel Insurance when in Europe on a cruise earlier this year and it did not cover for any destination with a "Do Not Travel" warning. Good luck with your search and please report back if you find a Travel Insurance policy that does cover Covid for destinations with a travel warning.

Totally understand about navigating here on cruise critic as there are many different boards with hundreds of various threads 🙂
