Has anyone been on the Zaandam recently, and is the casino crowded?

Can anyone tell me about the casino on the ship? Is it crowed and what table games does it have? It does not look like it can hold very many people.

Yes, it was crowded on our only sea day on the Montreal-Boston cruise. Not sure about evening. Craps, 21, live. Multi-game machines.

In general I've found HAL casinos to be the opposite of crowded. The only time I've been in a crowded HAL casino is during a casino tournament cruise when lots of the passengers are on special discounted or free casino fares.

Compared to most cruise ships it is small.mostly older machines.three card poker Texas Holden and some bj tables.on our last cruise it was busy after dinner.

Sadly for the Casino workers, the tables (Blackjack, Poker, Roulette, Craps) where empty most of the VoV cruise. Black Jack did have some players at night but they couldn't get enough signed up for tournaments. I remember years ago a dealer telling me he couldn't wait for his next contract on Carnival because HAL doesn't have the players. I think it depends on the itinerary and specific passengers on that cruise. I've seen standing room only crowds and also ghost town.

On the 35-Day Viking cruise, the casino was small and not much activity in any of the 35 days, that I witnessed anyhow. There weren't any 'penny' slots and the minimum bet that I found was 30 cents. I never saw a crowded table. There was only one drawing one night (to my knowledge) and I won it,  $25.00 in slot play so that's the best I did. Didn't hear a lot of whooping. Didn't hear any, actually. Of course I wasn't there 24/7.

Would it be safe to assume that the casino layout on the Volendam is the same as the Zaandam?

We just got off Saturday and found them quite crowded. Not very large and irritating when someone hogs a slot machine.  Card was in the slot, drink nearby and chair leaned up against the machine so no one could use it.  Gone potty? playing another machine? I thought about reporting it, but it was our last night and really didn't want to go there.  I had terrible luck with tight machines, but DH won a jackpot on his!

I’ve had the best luck going when the casino first “opens” as we leave port. I usually have the place almost to myself for an hour or so. I’ve walked through it after dinner (8pm fixed seating), but never had any desire to stay since so smoky then
