CasinoCruzGirl Posted September 4, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2022 Hi we booked a YC interior and am wondering if they have handicapped accessible interior YC suites. I use a scooter so wondering. On my other cruises on other lines I either get a HC room and can bring my scooter in to charge or if I’m not in HC room I have someone take it at night and deliver it back in the morning. Unfortunately, MC Meraviglia has no Accessible Interior YC cabins. It's nice that the Seashore has five, but the Mera was not designed for physically challenged passengers. There is only one accessible balcony cabin (15039).

That's shocking, especially in this day and age. Had no idea that was the case!

SirWolf Posted September 4, 2022 #5 Share Posted September 4, 2022 According to cruise*mapper*com.. (copied from website) For passengers with disabilities, MSC Meraviglia has a total of 45 handicap-accessible cabins (18x Inside, 26x Balcony, 1x Deluxe Suite). Follows the complete list of MSC Meraviglia cabins for disabled passengers. They are listed as type and categories, with cabin numbers in brackets: I1-Bella Inside rooms: 8049, 8052, 8130, 8182 I2-Fantastica Inside rooms: 9057, 9060, 10053, 10056, 10080, 11053, 11054, 11172, 11192, 12041, 12046, 12158, 12178, 13152, 13162 B1-Bella Balcony rooms: 8087, 8088, 8089, 8090 B2-Fantastica Balcony rooms: 9108, 9110, 9113, 9115, 9134, 9136, 10083, 10085, 10110, 10112, 11091, 11093, 11100, 11102, 12079, 12081, 12088, 12090 B3-Aurea Balcony rooms: 13073, 13075, 13088, 13090 YC1-Yacht Club Suite: 15039

So, of 2244 cabins, 2.5% are reserved as accessible cabins. So, one is a balcony in YC, and the other 54 are balcony and interior cabins with Bella, Aurea and Fantastica Experiences. So needs are accommodated, but not in YC. Edited September 4, 2022 by JAGR
9876 Posted September 4, 2022 #7 Share Posted September 4, 2022 As a side note, Meravilglia Yacht Club interiors are small. Their staff is wonderful and I am sure they would do anything they could to assist you.

So needs are accommodated, but not in YC. Given that it seems 2.5% overall are accessible, on the basis the newer ship YCs have about 125 cabins that would equate to only 3 such cabins in YC. Still doesn't feel right to me, but if 2.5% is all they provide across all accommodations then to have 5 in the Seashore (and its sisters presumably) is above average....but still not good! You've given me reason for thought in this regard, so on our next YC cruises I will be asking the on board YC Director how we can make representation to MSC Corporation for future builds to have a higher proportion. Thanks.

The staff on board have their hands full just keeping their current guests satisfied. And dealing with the group in Italy, ugh! Good luck in your endeavor. 🥂🍷🍸
