Boarding Eclipse in Vancouver with Bags

The first two times we boarded a Celebrity cruise in Vancouver we dragged our bags down the stairs to the bus parking area where a porter took them somewhere to load onto the ship.

On our last cruise we had wandered around Canada Place the day before and on the main level we found a sign saying Check in for Celebrity Eclipse.

The next day we went to that spot and dragged our bags with us expecting a drop off point somewhere, but it never happened and we ended up walking on the ship right to our cabin.  Our bags were not huge but dragging them through all the boarding and security hoops then up the ramp to the ship was worth it as we did not have to wait for our bags to be delivered.  Our sea passes were by the entrance to our suite and we were unpacked and ready for lunch in Luminae before noon.

Not sure what the point is of your post.

Are you asking where does one drop off bags at Canada Place?

Or, are you indicating that despite having to drag your bags onto the ship yourselves, you were happy to be completely unpacked before noon.

Is this a philosophical musing?

The points, which I noted, are first, you can carry on your bags which we were not aware you could, and second, in doing so you can get to enjoy the ship earlier and without the anxiety as to when or if your bags will arrive in your cabin.

I stated clearly that we knew where the basement bag drop was based on previous cruises, but were not previously aware of the main level check in option.

Passengers who are not in suites typically have to wait until 1PM or so to access their stateroom.  It is unusual to see Celebrity passengers hauling their own luggage on to the ship- in Seattle it is typically Carnival passengers who we see doing that.

Glad it worked out having your luggage immediately to unpack.

We are boarding Eclipse on Sunday, not in a suite, and have a boarding time of 10:30am. We’re able to go straight to our cabin, retrieve our Seapass card and drop off our bags. This is the way Celebrity has been doing embarkation since the return to service. Didn’t know about hauling our own bags to the room tho, might just try….that is if they make the same flight as us 🤷‍♀️😂🤞
