Cannes to Monaco and Eze?

Hello - I tried to find a thread on the transportation options but couldn't find anything recent.

We are docked in Cannes from 9:00 - 18:00 on a Monday

Plan is to walk from the ship to the train station and catch the 9:52 train to Monaco but I am also interested in exploring Eze - is it worth a visit?  What specifically?

Can anyone with experience assist?  Should we get off the train in Eze then take another train to Monaco and return to Cannes from there?  Are there other options (Uber/Cab)?

We are then planning on taking the 14:59 train back from Monaco for a 17:30 last tender - does this make sense?

Thanks in advance!

Eze (village) is a compact cute walled town with a fabulous view of the Med.  But, unfortunately, you cannot get there by direct train.  There is a small station called Eze Sur Mer which lies along the coast well below the village.  There is a bus line that connects that station to the village, but depending on your timing it can be a long wait for a bus.  Taxis are not generally available although we have had some luck calling for a radio taxi.

Getting from Eze Village to Monte Carlo is best done by public bus or taxi (assuming you can find a taxi).  When DW and I lan on going to places like Eze or St Paul de Vence we find many advantages to simply renting a car for convenience and to maximize our options.

hi, we did a private shore excursion years ago that took us in a mini van to Eze. It was enchanting. Narrow alleyways, lovely old buildings, great shopping in small stores, beautiful scenery...a fantastic day. I must add that the streets were mostly cobblestone from what I remember so walking might be a challenge for some. And there were steps to climb to see things but we did it years ago when our knees were a lot stronger. LOL, you'll love it. We went to Cannes too on a private tour with 10 people in a mini bus, but by comparison, Eze was much more exciting, beautiful and unforgettable. IMHO
