Retreat suite levels

We are booked in the Celebrity suite and are considering upgrading to the Royal suite if the level of service is much different. Can anyone speak to the difference, if any in the service? My hubby would like the frig to have beer stocked and I would like  wine and amaretto available and start the days off with a mimosa and latte among other things. Would that be available in the celebrity suite?

Have been on Celebrity Millie (Celebrity Suite) and Apex (Sky Suite) and going on Infinity in two weeks (Oct 1-8) in a Celebrity Suite. Your Butler will stock whatever you'd like, but there is a charge for alcohol unless you ask your butler just does it for you (have heard that can happen, but I'd likely ask them to play it safe). We, too, would be interested in anyone speaking from a Royal perspective, but I think Royal and Penthouse suites they do stock complimentary.

They do for beer and soft drinks in the fridge, but not for the airplane bottles of liquor.  Instead, you get two liter bottles of liquor in your room (one or both of those can be wine, if you prefer).

In my opinion there is a very large difference--but it's the difference between 'good' and 'great'....you won't go wrong either way. beer will not be a problem and if you have an accommodating butler, some champagne and liquor may not be either (I can attest to the former but not the latter). The Upper Level suites are quite a bit more money and whether they're worth it is really up to you.  I've been in CS, RS and PS and have been happy in all (happiest in PS, but that's because all crew really spoil you).  The main difference for the upper suites (besides better level of service) is the much larger cabin and the free specialty restaurants.  Again, that doesn't matter for some.

Which ship are you on?

RS you will get 2 bottles of your choice of liquor in the room or wine.   They will also stock the mini fridge with 3 other items such as water, soft drinks, beer and mixers.   They will contact you ahead of time to get your preferences.  Amaretto is not on the list, but I requested it and received it.  You also receive Unlimited Speciality Dining and Free Gelato.

A few months ago we did 2 cruises on 2 different ships. First one we were in a RS. Next one we were in a CS. In my opinion, totally different experiences. RS has a Whirlpool on deck, the bedroom is a little bigger, the bathroom is a good bit bigger and the living room is slightly larger. In the RS everything is included. We don’t drink much alcohol so can’t comment much about what’s available there but everything is included. If you want to go to a specialty restaurant it’s included and the concierge will make your reservation and escort you to the venue and you get a great table. In the CS they’ll make the reservation but you have to pay the fee and they don’t escort you so you don’t necessarily get a great table. In the RS all the staff knew you and greeted you. In the CS just another couple of folks. Yes, he RS is more but it’s a great experience.

I did celebrity suite once on infinity and wasn’t impressed disliked there balcony, we either book sky or royal suite , royal and above gives you free specialty restaurants, two liter bottles of liquor of your choice and a bottle of champagne. Did move up from sky to penthouse last year on edge and that was amazing.

We have cruised in RS numerous times on M-class prior to Covid shutdown and 3 PS in the last 11 months.  Price for both suite classes included 2 bottles of liquor but you can substitute.  Ask your shoreside concierge when you are contacted.  (I prefer to make my requests by email for a record.). Also included in the cost of RS & PS are selections of beer, including imported brands.  The fridge is kept filled daily. (DH has requested Woodford or Makers Mark in Bourbon or whatever his desired brand of Scotch is for a particular cruise. Reasonable requests have been honored at no additional charge.). We have not requested wine be stocked in our fridge (since we consume enough wine  outside of our suite with meals) but I suspect that can be done at no additional cost.  (Again, reasonable requests will likely be honored.) Specialty water and sodas are stocked daily; no additional cost.  Requests for mixed drinks like Bloody Marys or Mimosas or Bahama Mamas have been delivered to our suites, again at no additional coast and without any added tip.  Yes, RS & RS are considered "upper suites".

Don't think about it. You are on a cruise!

Our PS in Sept and November on M-class had scales in the bathroom.  Our last PS cruise was a month ago and I didn't notice  if we had a scale.  My clothes were too busy yelling at me that I was overenjoying (is that a word?) the food. 🙂

We requested a bottle of Bloody Mary mix (PH on Constellation). The butler came back with a large bottle about 20 minutes later. Seems he had to have a shouting match with the bartender in order to secure this treasure. He was still a little flustered when he related the story. We thought it was hilarious.

Hello All-

New to this site. Great threads on here.

Booked two cruises with Celebrity (same ship/same room for both) now that we're (mostly) "post covid."

Trying a short cruise in January '23 to get an idea how it will be for a somewhat longer cruise booked later in August '23.

I like the look and amenities of the Retreat. Celebrity appears to do a bang up job with regard to their staterooms, as well.

We have had wonderful service in both RS and PH. Perks are the same for both the difference is in room size/amenities.

We have not cruised on Edge class mainly because the RS has a tiny balcony and both the RS and PH have a large overhang. Whilst many guests report this is not an issue to them as the Retreat deck is close by it would be for us.  We do enjoy our own private outdoor space and to enjoy the sun during the day and the stars at night.

We love having an in suite bar set up. As others have said no reasonable request will be refused. If we want to set up a special meal in suite or entertain we always give our butler 24 hours notice.

The cruises where the service has been outstanding have been so because we had a butler that was exceptional. Some butlers seem to be able to intuitively know what you may enjoy…Little treats, offers to arrange an in suite lunch on a sea day when you may want to just relax on the balcony…

We put the scales in a cupboard…

We put tight fitting clothes at the end of a cruise down to using the free laundry in RS and PH rather than the free speciality dining!!!!

You should look into the Edge Villa, I’m told it’s the best balcony (Iconic excluded) of all the upper suites.

Yes the bedroom is on the second level, though the sofa converts to sleep two

Yes similar to crown loft suites on rccl which I also will not book . My knees would protest 😁😁. I stick with either sky, royal or penthouse.

To be perfectly honest when we finally get around to booking E class (next two cruises on S again) we might look at a Sky Suite with a decent veranda and spend the money saved on speciality dining. Edge Villa not suitable for anyone mobility challenged (which we are) and Iconic Suite is beyond what we are willing and able to pay.

As with all room choices you simply have to decide what is important to you individually. From what I have seen and read from CC and feedback from personal friends I know the RS and PH would not suite us as well as the S class equivalents. Much as we usually enjoy the higher suite experience we would forgo the RS/PH perks for a room with a decent balcony!

Exactly what I'll be trying on both occasions. Plus, direct access to the Retreat deck, lounge, Luminae.

Looks like a good location with great proximity to key amenities.
