La Plywood

We are going to Grenada for the first time in Feb 2023 and we are wanting to visit a spice market and go to the beach.  We are thinking of exploring Carenage Harbor for shopping and then taking a taxi to La Plywood.  Does La Plywood rent chairs/umbrellas?  Is it still much less busy than Grand Anse?  Would you recommend somewhere else to shop for spice necklaces etc?  Thanks for your help!!

Pre COVID

Plenty of shops/stalls selling alcohol, brickabat, souvenirs, spices etc., within the port covered area to satisfy the most discerning of shopper.  Also there is an official taxi Despatcher Desk/Kiosk where rates are published, for your ride to Plywood.  Your outward driver will be pleased have one book them for the return.  Plywood did have bed rental, think it was $10 for two, but check on their Face(hard backed reading material) message page.

Respect for having the courage (and sense) going over the hill, away from Babylon mayhem, to where your custom will be welcomed and appreciated.  Not many do this….

Thank you so much!!  We will shop in the port area and then taxi to Plywood. 🙂

One tip… All prices displayed at Plywood are in EC$ not US$
As a quick (near as dam-it) mental conversion to US$,  divide the EC$ by 2 then take off 25%

One last thing….a small tip directly to the wait staff will be unexpected and greatly appreciated.

Wishing your party a wonderful day.  It’s a beautiful island with beautiful people.

Nearly forgot.

Grenada is known to occasionally to have a heavy blast of liquid sunshine at the end of the day.  Same with some other islands.

Suggest packing some of those cheap, disposable plastic ponchos.
