Can specialty dining credits be applied to other cabin members?

HI All,

I'm travelling with my wife and two kids on a 7 night.  We've received 2 specialty dining credits via the free-at-sea promo.   If we were to get the free-at-sea plus, could the additional 2 specialty dining credits be used to bring our kids to specialty dining on 2 nights?

We'd rather have the opportunity to have all 4 of us do speciality dining 2 nights instead of just my wife and I having 4 nights of specialty dining.   We're had already planned on getting the premium plus beverage package, which is why the free-at-sea plus may make sense.  FYI, kids are 12 & 14 and wouldn't be eating off the kids menu.

Thanks!

No....

"CAN I BUY DINNER FOR SOMEONE ELSE WITH MY SPECIALTY DINING PACKAGE?

Specialty Dining Packages are sold individually and cannot be transferred. If you wish to pay for someone else’s dinner, you will not be able to use your own SDP."

"SDPs are personal (per person, e.g., 2 guests cannot share 1 SDP meal) and non-transferable (guests cannot give their SDP meals to someone else)."

I had this same exact question. They really won't let you transfer Specialty Dining to your kids in the same Cabin? So I would have to pay out of pocket for 4 meals in OPs example for the two kids?

The terms are quite clear.

Yes, NCL wants you to purchase those meals.

Corporations exist to serve their shareholders, not their customers...so yes, you must purchase meals for your kids. I think you could purchase a specialty dining package pre-cruise and save a bit of money. Look in your NCL Account under "upgrades" and/or dining.

Personally, I'd just send the kids to the buffet. 12 and 14 are old enough to wander around on their own while your wife and you have a relaxing, kidless meal.
