Rancho Latino which is a short walk from the cruise dock if you're walking toward Kmart is a very popular place, but their food is more Spanish Caribbean. Twistt 340 in Yacht Haven Grande (walking distance) is more VI style food and is also very popular with young VI professionals who want local food in a nice atmosphere.

Most people recommend Gladys Cafe in town, and it is the most well known for local food. If you are going to historic Charlotte Amalie (town) you might want to go there, but if you want to stay closer to the ship the others I mentioned are good, too.
