It's clear to me so don't overthink it. We live within 250 miles but prefer to have the private transfer and pay the extra. For a two hour journey both ways we pay( for both of us )an extra £86 return. Well worth it in a luxury limo.

That'a a very apt comment about any cruise... We always have a private transfer with SAGA... it costs such a tiny amount compared to the cost of the entire cruise. We find that a few quid extra is just not worth our worrying about.

We are happy with company , my wife would talk for the 4 hour journey.  however it's a pity they don't let you know well before hand , the extent of any detour.  If it's  significant would happily pay the extra given time to arrange it. As you say its peanuts.

its measured using google maps..We are dead on the 250 for portsmouth , less for southampton but over for Dover.. Being Over can add significantly though due to the route so clearly not as the crow flies.

 

By the way never had a shared car yet strangely. Must be luck of the draw.
