Rat Posted March 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2006 Will Oceania charge our credit card if we book the shore excursions two months before our Nautica cruise? Thanks
nparmelee Posted March 4, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2006 Yes they will, most lines do now it seems. I set up one ship excursion for our June cruise a few weeks ago and it was on my statement that arrived this week.
Andee Posted March 4, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2006 Yes, they will charge your CC immediately, but if the port gets cancelled in advance, it will take them several weeks to credit your CC.
Druke I Posted March 4, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2006 They pre-charged our credit card this past August, cruise into the Baltic. One of the excursions was later cancelled, and the credit appeared on our on-board account, rather than as a credit on the card. Fine by us either way. Rat Posted March 4, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted March 4, 2006 Thanks for the replies! There are a few excursions we would like to prebook fearing that they might sellout before we sail. :)
azkitty Posted March 4, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 4, 2006 I have never seen a shore excursion sell out before even boarding a ship. We have always booked onboard. Most cruise lines let you change your mind and cancel right up to 24 hours before the tour. I noticed on the complete package tours, they don't allow cancellation. Those are the packages that provide a tour a day. I think there are two of them ranging from around $749 - $799 approx. I hope cancellation is allowed on day tours. We are going to wait and see for the Nautica June 8 sailing. I had thought we might need some of the ship's tours but the more I research the ports and sights, the more I think we can do a lot on our own or with a local tour guide or company. I have found some tours identical to the ship's tour, but much cheaper and mostly include a lunch where the ship's tour did not.
conan Posted March 5, 2006 #7 Share Posted March 5, 2006 When you return home, we hope you post a report here about these shorex booking experiences for those of us who will follow. Thanx
lcand1923 Posted March 6, 2006 #8 Share Posted March 6, 2006 Watch your shipboard paper. They publish the date and time for you to cancel your individual ship based shore excursions.
