icon1.gifHelp! Flight Change

We were supposed to have a 3:00 p.m. return flight from LA. We just received info that the flight time has been changed to 1:20 p.m.:( Will I have time to get off the cruise ship in San Pedro to make that flight? I know that you have to get to the airport well in advance of the flight.

Thanks guys. You can always count on X cruisers to be there for you.:D

We booked this with free air miles. It's great to not pay for the flight but they sure do mess you around.

We had planned to take a taxi from the port. Should we reserve a super shuttle instead?

I believe a taxi would be somewhat more expensive than a shuttle. It's about 22 miles to LAX. We used Roadrunner shuttle van www.rrshuttle.com for $10 pp plus tip. Prearranged and they picked us up outside the terminal. Had to call them when we were all out because he had to wait at an area away from the terminal. Also there is Supershuttle www.supershuttle.com .

If you are sharing, make sure everybody gets off and is ready to go when you call for the shuttle to pick you up.

Hi, :) I sailed out of San Pedro back in October and upon returning

there were TONS of Shuttles and Taxi's waiting outside.

You can reserve one yes, but usually there are tons of folks waiting

to share as well.

I didn't have to wait a total of 10 minutes and that was without

a reservation.

Anyway, have a great time and you should not have any problems

getting back to the airport:)

Hi Lois. Looks like you got on the Summit last October when we got off. Did you get a shuttle or a taxi when you headed for LAX from San Pedro?

Last time we rented a car, but on our upcoming cruise we're heading straight to the airport when we disembark. I've seen two camps on this - one says reserve a shuttle the other says it's easier just to grab one without reserving as opposed to having to wait for, and find, a specific car or van. It appears you think the latter is best, if in fact you took a shuttle. Mind telling be the cost of whichever you took?

:) Hi Larry, I did indeed grab a shuttle outside the terminal.

To be honest, I had become friends with some people from our

Roll Call. IF I had arrived outside at the same time I would have

been in their van but that is ok....I was a little later and they

had a full load of folks. I used a friend's phone and told them to

go ahead without me.

I went to one of the guys and said it was just me....he pointed

me to a van which already had some people in it. Then I think 2 or 3

more people hopped in after me. (2 happened to be from Cruise Critic;) )

To be totally honest I don't remember the exact price but I think

it was about 17.00.

And we ended up getting to the airport quickly and I even

got on an earlier flight than originally booked! And Delta didn't even

charge me the fee to change flights!:)
