bucky21 Posted October 14, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2022 Can anyone shed light on the differences between a vista suite vs an aft balcony considering the fact that they are located next door to each other and there does not appear to be a significant size difference? The cost difference is so substantial, there must be some upgrades.
Sea42 Posted October 14, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2022 (edited) Well, you do get to pay more for the crew incentive!😁 Seriously, there is not much in the way of any extra amenities. You do earn 2x the mariner points but I don't think the price is worth it. https://www.hollandamerica.com/en_US/suites-staterooms.html Edited October 14, 2022 by Sea42

crystalspin Posted October 14, 2022 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2022 (edited) Looking at Deck 4: The balconies of the Aft Verandahs are ~twice as deep as the other balconies on the ship, INCLUDING the Aft Vista Suites! (Not true of the other decks, 5-8, that have both kinds of cabins.) The Vistas are a little larger inside with the sofa nearer the hall, whereas the Verandahs the sofa or maybe loveseat is near the balcony. LarsenPNP Posted October 15, 2022 #7 Share Posted October 15, 2022 (edited) We sailed on Rotterdam in an aft-view Vista Suite in the Caribbean last March. We were in cabin 7194. My husband noted some noise at night, but nothing objectionable. I LOVED this cabin. I often would go out on the balcony at night and it was amazing. I had a Signature Suite in June on Eurodam -- 6103 in Alaska. It was also nice. Mid ship, larger, and it is quieter. This is a Vista ship, and not the Pinnacle class that is Rotterdam I think the aft-view signature suites are those that are on the corners of the ship with a balcony that wraps. You can't go wrong with any of these (and I have both booked for upcoming cruises ;-). I think my husband might give the nod to a mid-ship location, but my heart goes to the aft-view. bucky21 Posted October 19, 2022 Author #8 Share Posted October 19, 2022 I agree all the way. I am a huge fan of the aft view. It seems to me that it provides more privacy and is much more quiet because the wind is less of a factor while sailing. Thank you so much for your insight and input. Very grateful for your thoughts/
