deec Posted October 21, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2022 (edited) Has anyone ever been able to be placed on a "waitlist?' All lower priced cabins are "sold out" so I am wondering if there is anyway other than checking the website daily for an opportunity to grab a cabin if there is a cancellation. We are considering a long cruise so upgrading is more than $1000/pp....which would negative the current promo for OBC. UWDawg Posted October 21, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2022 In early 2021 and mid-2021, when I asked Viking reps about being placed on a waitlist for voyages in which I was interested, I was told that Viking doesn't maintain any formal waitlists. However, the reps I talked to said they would keep an eye out for me and let me know if spots became available.
Jim Avery Posted October 21, 2022 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2022 Dawg is right, it depends on who your "guy" is at Viking. Our guy left so we are floundering around just like most. Before he left we did 3 waitlists with him and all three came through. Waitlists for excursions are a different deal but once onboard we have also gotten everything we were waitlisted for. Can't be just lucky because the lottery has been avoiding me for many years....🍹
Rare LindaS272 Posted October 21, 2022 #4 Share Posted October 21, 2022 I can confirm that a Viking rep said they’d notify us if something came open—but then didn’t! We found a cancellation ourselves just by frequent checking. 🙃
