Kamfish642 Posted October 28, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2022 Booked in December on the Viking Neptune trans-Atlantic cruise from Barcelona to Ft. Lauderdale. For those with experience in trans-Atlantic cruises this time of year, what is the temperature and weather conditions normally on Atlantic crossing? This will help us know how to pack for Atlantic crossing part to cruise.
Goosebear Mum Posted October 28, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2022 Not on Viking (yet!) but did a TA in Dec/Jan and the weather for us from cold Winter UK was warm enough to be outside on sun beds from the Azores to the Caribbean, both directions. The closer we got to the Caribbean the higher in the 20s (centigrade) it got, to the point of being very hot (for us) for a couple of days either side of the Caribbean. The weather can be anything; we had calm and a storm and everything in between! We’d happily do one again when work holidays or retirement allows… As you’re from FL you may find it quite chilly from Barcelona to about 1-2 days beyond the Azores (depending on your route) Pack sun weather and jumpers. Pack cold weather in case it’s cold in the Med/Barcelona.

Last time I went in November it was balcony weather all the way.
annapolitan369 Posted October 28, 2022 #4 Share Posted October 28, 2022 Our last t/a was from Lisbon to Miami, end of November into the beginning of December. It was warm enough to be outside most days but we missed Bermuda because of gale force winds so the Captain took a more southerly route and we went to San Juan instead. I would expect the first few days from Barcelona to be chilly and then nice temperatures after Madeira. I am also contemplating going on the Neptune crossing and should decide within the next week.

For those who are reading this and saying, "A dress???": In the UK, jumper is what in the US is called a sweater.. 1

We live in PR and found Barcelona to be frigid! Wished we had hats and gloves. Maderia was very comfortable temps as were the first two crossing days. But after that it was very warm and humid. Could be on the balcony, any of the outside deck chairs or dine outside anytime. Sometimes it was too hot in the sun.
