SimRob Posted March 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2006 there are three of us sailing on the Valor 4/2/06, one of our group is handicapped, TA has notified Carnival and said we will have assistance boarding. I know there will be someone on the pier assisting, will we be "handed off" to someone onboard that will assist us to our cabin, or will it be the person on the pier ? should I, and what would be appropriate, to tip these/this people/person thanks
DEL67 Posted March 5, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2006 If you need to use a Carnival wheelchair for embarkation, they should provide you one at the curb along with someone to push it if necessary. When you get to the check-in area, you should be directed to a special area or line for the disabled. If not, ask where it is as the lines are usually much shorter. Once you are checked in, they may or may not assign a cabin steward to take you to the cabin (they almost always do if you are using a ship chair as they need it for other passengers.) If they don't, ask for one if you feel you need assistance. And, yes, I would tip them a couple of dollars.
