Does anyone know what usually happens for disembarkation at Tilbury?  Our first Viking cruise (Iberian Explorer, Viking Venus) ends at Tilbury on Jan 19, 2023.  We intend to take the Viking shuttle to Heathrow, but our flight is not until about 3:00 pm.  Sounds like we would get the shuttle by 9:30 at the latest, a lot of time (I hope!) to twiddle our thumbs in Terminal 2.

Departing the ship at 09:30, you may not have too much time to spare for a 15:00 flight.

LHR is about 70 miles from Tilbury, which on a good day, with no congestion on the M25,  should take about 90 mins. However the M25 is notorious for traffic jams and could easily take 2 to 3 hours. For a 15:00 flight, you probably should arrive at LHR T2 about 12:00, especially if your flight leaves from one of the furthest gates at the opposite side from check-in.

Thank you!  It is good to hear from someone with greater experience.  It has certainly been my experience that Air Canada is usually in distant gates.

That was our experience in 2020, our Air Canada flight left from the furthest gate.

What does Viking Ocean do if you have an early flight arrival time and have booked a Viking transfer from airport to ship?  Our flight next May gets into Heathrow before 6 AM and ship is tendered at Greenwich.  Do they keep you waiting at the airport or do they drop you off someplace in Greenwich until boarding is allowed?

In August we had an early arrival in Iceland with a Viking transfer. After picking us up they took us to a hotel where we had breakfast, and then we reboarded the bus for our ride to the port.
