drumming cruisers Posted November 6, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2022 We boarded and disembarked Breakaway at Juia terminal quite a few years ago and was a mess. We booked a cruise in January 2023 in a Haven cabin. Have things changed in the terminal? Is there separate security scan for Haven passengers and a room to wait in to board? Thank you for any info, pictures etc.

There was a room for Haven passengers once they'd checked in. Only there about five minutes when escort to the Haven arrived. Worst checkin we've ever encountered.
MagnoliaBlossom Posted November 6, 2022 #3 Share Posted November 6, 2022 New Orleans is usually a mess. Pre COVID we sailed from Nzobthree or four times a year and it was rare that the procedure and layout was the same. At one time it seemed they had a pretty good system, but our last cruise out of there was chaotic. We sail from there 12/4 so it will be a pre cruise “adventure”
RocketMan275 Posted November 6, 2022 #4 Share Posted November 6, 2022 One of the things that I didn't understand about embarkation in NOLA was the fact that we had to show our documentation, ie, vaccination status, covid tests, identification, and boarding passes, at three different locations in the hour long line. Then there were the mask police walking the line every ten minutes telling people to put their masks back on. Of course, as soon as the mask police left, the masks were off again.
MagnoliaBlossom Posted November 6, 2022 #5 Share Posted November 6, 2022 Well, the masks and covid restrictions are now history so at least we don’t have that to deal with. My biggest concern is leaving our vehicle in the whale lot with all the reports of break ins.

Here are some other options for parking: https://www.saintgregtravel.com/new-orleans-parking/ We booked the Fulton garage. It's cheaper. You can park inside. Fulton Place is manned 24/7 and has 64 onsite security cameras. They offer a complimentary shuttle that runs every 5 to 10 minutes from 7am to 3pm.
