Cashing out OBC at Casino

Hey all, new to cruising and have a trip booked on the Getaway next year.

 

I can't seem to find any recent info on the process for cashing out non-refundable OBC via the Casino. Is it as simple as walking up the desk, asking for the OBC to be loaded to my room card, sit down at a slot machine, cash out, and bring a voucher back to the desk for cash? Or do they not provide cash at the desk, but instead apply it to your folio?

So far I know, non ref OBC is not accepted at the casino

You don't. To "cash out" obc you would add money (3% fee) to your account at one of the machines, then load it onto the machine, then cash out. The cash amount + fee is added to your onboard account. If you have non- refundable obc,  you now owe the cash amount and still have available obc.

Nonrefundable obc can't be used in the casino.

I tried withdrawing non-refundable OBC via a casino room charge on the Getaway in September, and Breakaway last week. Was unsuccessful both times.

   Huh? You don't cash out non-refundable OBC. That is why it is called non-refundable.

Reputable folks here have, in the past, reported being able to put non-refundable OBC on a slot machine, and cash out the voucher—effectively cashing out non-refundable OBC.

 

This doesn't appear to work anymore.

 

You also can't use non-refundable OBC for purchase of CruiseNext certificates, which is an even bigger bummer.

But....can't you still use Non-Refundable obc to play slots?  And assuming you go thru the whole thing, cash out your winnings?

Nope. I had $100 OBC on my account, charged $115 to the room at a slot machine, spun a couple times and lost a couple bucks, and cashed the rest out.

 

My onboard account showed I had a balance of $115, with $100 OBC available to use.

They were in the process of revamping lots of rules just before covid hit. You also used to be able to pre book excursions and pay onboard with OBC.

    Had $100.00 casino OBC credit last week. One of the places I could not use it was in the casino!. So bought the soda package and a couple coffees at Starbucks, Still left the ship with $8.00 or so credit.
