Carnival Vista Reverses Course: Does This Happen Often?

Got an email from Carnival a little while ago notifying passengers of major modifications to our itinerary.

It looks the cruise is going to be backwards from what was scheduled. Here is the email:

Dear Carnival Vista Guest,

We continue to refine our operational plans for your cruise and have revised the order of our port visits. We have also modified our time in Cozumel and Mahogany Bay.

Below is the revised itinerary:

DAY PORT ARRIVE DEPART

Sat   Galveston, Tx   4:00 PM
Sun   Fun Day at Sea
Mon   Cozumel, Mexico 10:00 AM 6:00 PM
Tue   Belize 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Wed   Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan 9:00 AM 6:00 PM
Thu   Fun Day at Sea
Fri   Fun Day at Sea
Sat   Galveston, Tx 8:00 AM

Pre-purchased Carnival shore excursions will be adjusted to the new days and times.

We apologize for this change and thank you for your understanding. See you soon!

It appears that this the reverse of what we supposed to do.  We had a Dolphin Royal Swim planned for Thursday in Cozumel that we are trying to get rescheduled.

Does anyone know why this change is being made so close to sailing?  Doesn't seem to be weather connected.  How often does this happen?  Any insight would be appreciated!

It happened on our Vista cruise in 2018 while onboard ... I didn't think it was that huge of a deal, although I might have thought differently if we hadn't been able to switch our non-Carnival beach reservation in Cozumel, which I don't think a lot of people were able to do because they sold out.

It said it changed the port times for Mahogony Bay and Cozumel.  What were the original times?

I know Cozumel on Thursday 11/17 was scheduled for 7 am to 4 pm.

Not sure about Mahogany Bay.
