Immediate full payment

I just booked a Yacht Club suite on the Divinia for Feb. 2024.(first timer) The deposit was $398. Almost immediately I got a demand to pay the full $9500. Is this normal? I will not pay that until obviously closer to the sail date. The MSC offices are closed till monday. Just wonder if this is the norm for MSC. I figure some of you MSC fans can give me some info. before I call them Monday.

Sounds like you booked Feb

2023 if they’re demanding full payment

Full payment is due 90 days out. If you booked 2024 then there’s a mistake. If you thought you booked 2024 but actually booked 2023, there’s a mistake. Either way, it’s good you give them a call.

No it's showing 427 days till the cruise. Looks like this is some kind of screw up on their part.

Cruise is booked 1/28/2024 through 2/11/2024. Obviously, I'm not going to pay the full cost of a Yacht Club cruise at this date.

It seems like a "website screw up.... won't be fixed during the weekend..." type of thing. It happens on most cruise lines but MSC has one of the more problematic web experiences.

 

Does your confirmation PDF give you the correct final payment date?

No it doesn't show that.Just says final payment due. I'll let them explain their screw up to me tomorrow.
