Usually if I wanted I can drop by the diamond lounge if I wanted snacks. Now both are at 5 pm. I overheard the diamond ambassador saying she is aware of the complaints, both at 5pm. She said rcl decided diamond snacks should start 5 pm and be consistent on every ship. It would be fine if they didnt have dinner at 5 pm. Earlier than I expected also. 179 pinnacles, never saw so many gold name tags. Several said they got kicked from the suite lounge, 1 lunch 1 dinner allowed in CK. The top 3 in pts all over 3k. Pinnacles pinnacles everywhere. I think the most I've ever seen. Great weather except a couple of rain bursts yesterday morning. Captain james will be back sunday who I love. Quite a few friends boarding sunday. Each set talking pay restaurants. Enjoy chops tonight. I'll leave you to your review. As far as the seating no one wants to be a 6th wheel and horn in on a family who wants to eat alone. Me either. And if i order something i agree with john, i have the right to say this poblano soup is supposed to come with roasted corn and chorizo. I went down special for that soup. Usually I prefer the WJ where I can sit and read a book and enjoy myself. We will see next week with friends. Finish your review. I'll quit reading. Dont want to be tempted to jump in. You dont need to hide behind your menus. I wouldnt recognize any of you from that one dinner if you walked past me. Sorry. Must be challenging to dine solo, with the inherent complexities, and then be subject to judgement by strangers taking sides. Hang tough, enjoy next week, and interact with the cruise staff in a manner in which you are both comfortable and gracious.

wolfganghowell Posted December 9, 2022 #179 Share Posted December 9, 2022 Wow, they really squeezed something in there between the two! Here's hoping the casino turns kinder these last two nights. Our Halloween cruise on Harmony had an evil casino too. I still really prefer the casino layout on Freedom and Voyager class.
Rare niksmom630 Posted December 9, 2022 Author #180 Share Posted December 9, 2022 Kind of a quiet day in port today….. ok, I’ll give….. what’s this? Kind of reminds me of the tennis ball my friends husband has hung from the garage ceiling so she knows how far she can pull up. When it hits her windshield she knows to brake before doing some structural damage…..

That is so anyone cutting across the bow knows not to cross in that area as they will run into it.

mom4mom Posted December 10, 2022 #188 Share Posted December 10, 2022 I’d like to pick your brain since you are so recently on Allure. I’m arranging a cabin crawl on our 2/26 sailing and need to determine the least crowded place to gather to start this activity. My plan is to have it the first sea day at 2pm but don’t want to interfere with any planned activity. Any ideas?

Do you have and cabins on deck 17 for your crawl? if so, it’s a good place to start because you can meet right outside the cabin entrance area since they have unique key access. I’ve found it’s easier to start the crawl in the highest deck and work your way down for two reasons….it’s easier going down than up, and you will have to use the stairs as much as possible to keep your group together. Using the elevators is almost impossible on a sea day, especially if you have a large group. If you must use the elevators, try to stick with the forward elevator banks, because they are less busy than mid ship. Finally, if you need to move from forward cabins to mid shift or aft, try utilizing deck 8 since it’s a nice walk thru Central Park! Cabin crawls are always fun! They just require a bit of planning. I just pulled out the deck plans and jotted down the the distances between them, and tried to shorten them as much as possible.
Rare niksmom630 Posted December 10, 2022 Author #190 Share Posted December 10, 2022 Perfect last day at sea….. literally no wind, easy to walk across ship on deck 16 which is a rarity. 10:30 am and still many open seats in the Solarium and on the pool deck. I’m still befuddled by this, but in a good way 😉
Rare niksmom630 Posted December 10, 2022 Author #191 Share Posted December 10, 2022 Last nights wild festivities involved room service soup, bread and salad and as I recovered from a few too many Miami Vices, (courtesy of our great waiter at Nachi Cocum) followed by Sorrentos, and a frozen yogurt cone. I don’t know why I overindulge so much on sailings when I maybe eat one to two meals a day at home. Then it will take me a week to recover once I’m home and I’ll be hungry every two hours and foraging the cabinets for snacks. 🤦🏼♀️😋 4

footzz Posted December 10, 2022 #194 Share Posted December 10, 2022 (edited) Thanks niksmom630 for the review. I have a question regarding the night lobster is served in the MDR. It's normally served on Day 6, which is usually a sea day. On your itenerary, Day 6 was a port day in Cozumel. So, was the lobster served last night or will it be tonight? I can’t ever recall a Cozumel port day on ANY sailing that was also a formal night in the MDR. Cozumel is also usually a long day in port, so always one of the slower ones in the MDR from my experience. Our all aboard time was 3:30 ship time, so lots of people were still dressed up for the formal night last night. Or perhaps all part of Royals grand plan to reduce lobster consumption???? 😊😉

I wasn’t aware that we need special access into deck 17 but I hate to start with the Grand Loft first as that’s the one everyone wants to see and I’m afraid they’d drop out after that one. Thanks for your suggestion to use the less crowded forward elevators. Since the lowest deck cabin I have is on deck 6, I think I’ll suggest meeting in front of the carousel near the donut place and go up from there. Most people don’t mind walking up a deck or two and then only those who need it will use the elevators. I can’t wait to get back on the Allure again. Thanks for sharing your travels with us. How can the ship be ready for 11a.m. Boarding times if the last group getting off is just walking off at 10:40? I haven’t been on an oasis class sailing that wasn’t pushing everyone off by 9. And then boarding times for the next sailing were not even starting until 12 , at least post Covid. I thought maybe we were arriving at the port later, but I think I heard the captain say 5am arrival? 🤷🏼♀️
