Best way to get from Ft Lauderdale port to Kissimmee area after a cruise

Next year we’ll need to get home in the Kissimmee area from a TA that will end up in Ft Lauderdale.

On our TA this past April from Ft Lauderdale to Rome, we took an Amtrak train from Winter Haven to Ft Lauderdale. And got an Uber. We could do the same to get home, as long as we weren’t delayed by customs in getting off the ship. The train leaves around 11am or so.

We we’re considering a car rental but have no idea how to do a one way rental, or who would be the best company for that.

Maybe there a bus service? I have no idea.  Does anyone have experience on how they got home after a cruise where they didn’t have their own car at the port?

Thanks

Check the websites of the major car rental companies.  They all have a way of entering a drop-off location that is different than the pickup location.

It might depend on when you are traveling.  Right now you can get a 1 way car rental for $150 or less with tax. They are in the testing phase of the new Bright Lines High speed train from Miami to Orlando Int,   It is expected to up and running by spring.

They say spring but I need a backup since it’s not yet in service, but that would be an easy way to get back to Kissimmee
