lovesthebeach2 Posted December 11, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2022 Next year we’ll need to get home in the Kissimmee area from a TA that will end up in Ft Lauderdale. On our TA this past April from Ft Lauderdale to Rome, we took an Amtrak train from Winter Haven to Ft Lauderdale. And got an Uber. We could do the same to get home, as long as we weren’t delayed by customs in getting off the ship. The train leaves around 11am or so. We we’re considering a car rental but have no idea how to do a one way rental, or who would be the best company for that. Maybe there a bus service? I have no idea. Does anyone have experience on how they got home after a cruise where they didn’t have their own car at the port? Thanks
mo&fran Posted December 11, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 11, 2022 most major car rental companies in Fl allow you to do one way car rentals. pick up at one place and return at another.
taglovestocruise Posted December 11, 2022 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2022 One way rental from Hertz would be about $150 total, that would be for a 5 passenger Suv. No problem getting a one way rental..
Cruise5life Posted December 11, 2022 #4 Share Posted December 11, 2022 I’m doing a one way from Mia to coco beach. And the car rental has a shuttle to port Canaveral I know not where you’re going but it can be done. Oh yeah. 74.00. 40 days from now

Check the websites of the major car rental companies. They all have a way of entering a drop-off location that is different than the pickup location. volk904 Posted December 11, 2022 #6 Share Posted December 11, 2022 It might depend on when you are traveling. Right now you can get a 1 way car rental for $150 or less with tax. They are in the testing phase of the new Bright Lines High speed train from Miami to Orlando Int, It is expected to up and running by spring. They say spring but I need a backup since it’s not yet in service, but that would be an easy way to get back to Kissimmee
