Phony Bidding Offer ? ?

  We are in a GS for a cruise leaving in exactly 1 month.

You can go on any website that shows what cabins are left and they will say nothing above a mini suite.

We just received an offer to bid on upgrades for a 2 bedroom Grand Suite, the Owners Suite or the Royal Suite.

 Apparently these cabins are no longer available.

I wonder if those bidding offers automatically go out for the next 3 higher categories whether available or not.

I suspect they believe that a few people will have to cancel by the time the cruise sails

Yes, the offers are not really based on inventory.

People can and do cancel last minute or no show. Royal doesn’t want empty suites. RoyalUp means that won’t happen - and Royal makes more $$$.

Been told by a person, who should know, that Royal uses the late additional bid offers for purposes of setting bid amounts.
