OBSERVATIONS FROM THE POOP DECK SEASCAPE DEC- JAN 8 2023

Not to dwell on a sore subject, but it appears the interloper situation is a drain on the service staff and supplies (food and beverages) in the Yacht Club because of these interlopers. Many are not with key card identification only the secondary watches given by family. I do not wish to exacerbate the problem by revealing another problem being exploited by other interlopers into the YC. Low level staffers in YC are afraid to 'card' the guests for fear of insulting the actual paying YC members by asking to see identification. One enterprising deck hand who 'insulted' DW yesterday explained the problem to DW and now she is aware of the difficulty not being addressed by management. It is a difficult situation in the Yacht Club, apparently for the staff.

Speaking of the extravaganza, Morpheus, were there any additional incidents of "interloper response" to eliminate non-YC buffet moochers?

I guess your question hit my mind before I read your post. So as not to discourage the YC deck hand from his quest of identifying YC interlopers DW had me give her extra tip money to encourage him to continue his quest. He caught 20 interlopers yesterday.

This is mind blowing to me.  That is a lot of people getting in that shouldn't.  If the YC seaband is the issue, they should be taken away from the guilty parties(the YC members themselves) immediately and not returned.  And that should go for every person in that cabin.  Multiple infractions should be penalized with removal from the ship.

An absolute no go. Is management (YC, cruise, hotel) aware of this?

When we were on Seashore (Oct.) a couple asked if they could walk in with us, to "look around, because they're thinking of booking the YC on their next trip."  We told them No, but I doubt this was the only incident.  They also asked us on Deck 18, where they would not have to walk by the Concierges.

On Seaside there was talk of a side door with a broken lock that people could get into the YC pool deck.  Now I know Management was aware of this, because several people said they brought it to their attention on different sailings.

The Seaside is not the only ship with this same problem. Milktoast !

Don't forget to invoice MSC for the engineering consult,  plus materials.

Interesting that you should say this. I asked a question. If this lock is so important to the operation of the YC facility, why wait months for a part and just 'cannabalize' a non-essential lock. It may come down to 'it's above my pay scale'.

P.S. Or it could be the whole ship is under warrantee and the cost for any repairs is under review by subcontractors and insurance companies.

Some of the automatic door openers are not operating forcing guest to walk another twenty feet to a door that still functions. The elevators sometimes reply none available. One of our highlights is still and always the YC dining room on any cruise. No complaints with service or food, due in large part to Chef Lisa. Understand that she was hired away from Celebrity by MSC (They went to her). She was tasked with opening all the S-class ships in the Celebrity fleet and is recognized as tops in her field.

A 12 second clip of last evening's show production "Imaginocean". Notice that these productions rely heavily on digital screens in backdrop instead of on stage props.

P.S. There was a constant flow of passengers coming and going during the entire performance.

I guess rule breakers are in the eye of the beholder.  We even know of one frequent YC crusier who "somehow" manages to get his favorite deck lounger "reserved" and even enhanced (with some extra fabric covering).  I do not recall such a benefit (reserved deck loungers) as the norm in the YC :).  Of course we would never drop any names here :).

Yes, this 'well known'  ( even notorious) YC'er knows how to "reserve" a cabana (by paying for a Royal Suite or Owners Suite) or going to the concierge desk and reserving his favorite by paying for it for the week. We are supposed to believe we only live this life once. I like to think we get progressively better at it each time.

LOL, no problem here.  Tis the way of the world that "greasing the skids" often pays dividends.  Am shocked by the "interloper" issue on your ship.  The first time we ever cruised on MSC (Divina YC) somebody left an outdoor gate ajar and several "interlopers" soon discovered the breach.  It was amusing to watch several of the YC staff running around as they "rounded up the interlopers" (their words) and quickly escorted them out of the enclave.  It was part of our initiation into the wonders of the YC and the fantastic, dedicated staff.

In San Juan Puerto Rico and we were pleasantly surprised to see the replica of Columbus's Santa Maria docked right close by. Last time we toured the Santa Maria it was 12 pesos in 1991 Barcelona Harbor. Recommend everyone tour this unique vessel to get a sense of scale to today's ships. Astonished to see the Captain's quarters and how small it was compared to our inside cabin. Ours had a shower and toilet.
